Accessibility statement

NEMTrepreneur is read by people who run transportation companies for riders with disabilities. An unreadable page would be a strange thing for us to publish. We want every operator, dispatcher, driver, broker, and family member to be able to use this site, whatever device or assistive technology they rely on.

Our standard: the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. New pages and features are built to that level before they go live, and the existing site is audited against it on a quarterly cycle.

What we do to meet it

  • Contrast. Body text, labels, links, and controls meet a 4.5:1 minimum against their background (3:1 for large headings and icons). Our brand orange is used for fills and accents; text set in orange uses a darker "ink" shade that passes on white.
  • Keyboard. Every link, button, filter, form field, and scrollable table can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring. A "Skip to main content" link is the first thing on every page.
  • Structure. Pages use landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), a single H1, and headings in order so screen-reader users can move through them quickly.
  • Images and media. Editorial images carry alt text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers. Embedded videos are titled. Sponsor creatives carry the advertiser's message as alt text and are labelled "Sponsored."
  • Forms. Fields have visible labels or accessible names, required fields are marked, and errors are described in text.
  • Targets and motion. Tap targets are at least 24 by 24 pixels (most are 40 or larger). Animation is disabled for readers who have set a reduced-motion preference.
  • Text. Pages remain usable at 200% zoom and 320-pixel widths, and no content is locked to a fixed size.

How we test

We run automated checks (axe-core, WCAG 2.2 AA rule set) across the homepage, article template, directory, glossary, and every conversion page, and we spot-check with keyboard-only navigation and a screen reader (VoiceOver and NVDA) after each design change. Automated tools catch roughly a third of real-world barriers, so we treat a clean scan as a floor, not a finish line.

Known limitations

  • Third-party content. YouTube players, the newsletter signup service, and sponsor-supplied creatives are built by other companies. We title and label them, but we cannot change their internals. If one blocks you, tell us and we will describe or replace it.
  • Directory data. Provider listings are compiled from public records and may include abbreviations or all-caps names that screen readers pronounce awkwardly. Verified providers can correct their listing.
  • Older articles. A small number of pre-2025 articles contain images with generic alt text and tables without headers. We fix these as they are found and prioritise the most-read pages first.
  • PDF downloads. Some downloadable resources are not yet tagged PDFs. The content of each is available on the page that links to it.

Tell us what is not working

If you hit something you cannot read, reach, or operate, email contact@nemtrepreneur.com with the page address and what happened. We reply within five business days and fix confirmed barriers within thirty. You do not need to prove a disability or explain why you need the content.

Technical notes

This site is built on Webflow with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA where native HTML is not enough. It is tested in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, on macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android. This statement is reviewed quarterly and after any significant redesign.
