What is signature capture?

Signature capture is the collection of the rider's signature at the end of a trip as attestation that the service was delivered. In modern NEMT it happens on the driver's mobile device, with the signature stored against the trip record along with GPS location and time. Payers define acceptable substitutes when a rider cannot sign, such as a facility staff signature, a driver attestation with a reason code, or a photo.

Why signature capture matters for NEMT

Missing signatures are among the top causes of denied and clawed-back NEMT claims. A driver app that will not let a trip be closed without a signature or a documented exception removes the problem. Beyond compliance, timestamped signature data doubles as on-time performance evidence when a broker disputes a late drop-off.
