What is a driver app?

A driver app is the smartphone or tablet application that connects drivers to dispatch. It delivers the day's manifest, updates it in real time, provides turn-by-turn navigation, records trip status (en route, arrived, rider on board, completed, no-show) with GPS and timestamps, captures the rider's signature, and lets drivers message dispatch and report incidents. Most NEMT software platforms include one; some brokers also require use of their own app.
