What is PASS certification?

PASS (Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity) is a driver training and certification program from the Community Transportation Association of America. It covers safe passenger assistance techniques, wheelchair and mobility device securement, emergency procedures, and disability awareness and sensitivity. Certification lasts three years and is delivered by certified trainers, in person or blended with online modules.

Why PASS matters for NEMT

Many brokers and state programs accept or require PASS (or an equivalent) as proof of driver training, and it is the most widely recognized credential in the industry. Beyond compliance, it reduces rider injuries and complaints, which show up directly in on-time performance and broker scorecards.
